As promised, Part 2 of the MyDCStyle coverage of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) Spring 2012 and Part 2 is all about one of my favorite designers - Elie Tahari.
Along with his Executive Creative Director Kobi Halperin, Elie Tahari created a Spring 2012 collection that takes a trip back to the days of Cleopatra! Speaking with Elie Tahari backstage, he said the collection was inspired by the faded sun-kissed colors women wore in ancient Egypt and Elizabeth Taylor when she played the role of Cleopatra was actually one of his inspirations for this collection! Check out our interview below to find out more about the collection and who he would love to see visit his DC store! (Hint: her title includes the letters F and L.)
The collection was filled with plenty of sun-kissed coral, sky blue, teal, black and gold. Check out some of my favorite looks below followed by video of the entire runway show!
I coined this dress 'liquid gold' because the material just flows down the body and compliments much better than the bulky appearance sequins tend to add.
Check out the entire Spring 2012 collection video below - split in 2 parts.
