Last week, I held Part 2 "Cocktail 101 Attire" of the Women of Good Taste: Summer Fashion Series at The W Hotel's J&G Steakhouse where I showcased the best cocktail looks from local boutiques - Urban Chic of Georgetown, Annalee's and Zophia - accessorized with jewelry from Stella & Dot local rep Lily Duarte.
Thank you to everyone for coming out and attending!!! :o)

Guests enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres and a fabulous selection of wine - fashion, vino and good eats in the heart of the Nation's Capital. :o)

Model Olivia wearing one of my favorite looks from Zophia - a mustard-colored sheer (one of Fall's hottest trends) blouse with a high waisted tan pencil skirt. Perfect if you want to be fiercely chic at your upcoming cocktail event and steer away from the traditional cocktail dress. Best part is this is a great look for the office that can transition from day to night.

I loved this blue jewel-toned strapless Shoshanna dress from Urban Chic which I paired with the "Bambeleo" necklace from Stella & Dot. Seen here with black heels, but I would love it paired with a pair of nude heels. This dress is extremely versatile as you can wear it as seen above or you can transition it in to the cooler months by pairing it with a pair of black opaque tights and a black blazer. The necklace is a great statement piece of jewelry definitely worth the investment.

I love this gold-colored strapless dress from Annalee's paired with a gold chunky chain link necklace from Stella and Dot. Pair it with a pair of gold strappy open-toe heels or a pair of black close-toed heels. I would also love to see this dress paired with turquoise, fuchsia or green accessories!

The Dandelion Patch provided fabulous swags bags for the guests which included delicious-smelling lemongrass candles and stationary and participating vendors provided gift cards (20% off, woo hoo!) and the hair and make-up team from First Impressions Salon provided Redken product samples.

A classic one-shoulder black jersey dress from Annalee's.
Either way you slice it, cocktail attire is relative to your style. You can stay traditional and opt for a dress or mix it up and dress up a fitted pencil skirt or high waist trouser pants with a sheer blouse tucked in accessorized with a chunky necklace. Hopefully, these looks give you some ideas for your next cocktail soiree and a place to head to in the DC-area to scoop your look(s)! :o)
Thanks to Rocio Perez and her team at First Impresssions Salon and Zophia's make-up artist, Kristine Sepulveda, for providing hair & make-up for the models. Also, thank you Salon Daniel for generously donating a 1-hour massage raffle prize!
A special thanks to my dear friend and the DC-area's #1 Wedding Photographer, Laurie Bracewell, for photographing the event. For more information, e-mail her at [email protected] and visit her at www.lauriebracewellphotography.blogspot.com.
Stay tuned for details on Part 3 "Fall Fashion Must Haves"!
