Yesterday women from all over the DC-metro area rushed to the 10th District Sample Sale (DSS) to scoop up clothing, shoes and accessories at 30% - 70% the retail price! DSS is a twice-annual charity boutique shopping event hosting 20 of DC's best designer clothing and shoe boutiques selling their end-of-season inventory at liquidation-level prices. What's even better, 100% of the profits of DSS go towards charity and this year's charity was the E.L. Haynes Charter School.
It was clear why this year the event was SOLD OUT - it had everything you could want and more in a shopping event! Delicious eats and plenty of vino and bubbly was passed around while guests raced through each vendors' areas scooping up as many steals as they could possibly hold. VIP ticket holders were first to hit the floors from 5:30-6:30, while the General Admission ticket holders began their treasure hunt at 6:30. The event concluded at 9:00pm with an after-party hosted at Hudson restaurant and lounge. Sponsors included Bethesda Row, PopChips and One80Salon and included retailers like Urban Chic who exceeded last year's earnings! Founders Mary Amons, Shannon Haley, Liberty Jones, Barbara Martin and Jayne Sandman along with their amazing committee of volunteers did an extraordinary job at once again making this one of the BEST charity shopping events in the DC-area! Oh and did I mention this event happens twice a year? That's right, it sure does; so, if you missed out on yesterday's, not to worry - another DSS will be coming your way later in the year! Yours Truly will be sure to keep you posted! XOXO ~MyDCStyle
